Asia-Pacific groups join forces to craft conference

A group of Asia-Pacific radiology societies are joining together in a two-day conference to focus on how medical imaging professionals can optimize imaging resources and deliver better value by contributing to improved medical outcomes.

The May 19-20 Radiology Asia conference -- themed "Bringing state-of-the-art imaging into clinical practice" -- is jointly organized by SingEx Exhibitions, the Singapore Radiological Society, and the College of Radiologists Singapore. It is also being held in conjunction with the Singapore Congress of Radiology's annual scientific meeting.

The conference is anticipated to attract close to 800 delegates from all over the world and will feature 50 speakers, eight workshops, and four conference tracks covering more than 70 topics.

A conference track titled "Making Cents of Imaging" will directly address commercial leaders and imaging equipment vendors in radiology practice. It will be introduced at the conference for the first time, covering industry trends, technological advances, and professional challenges.

Speakers and moderators composed of healthcare industry and radiology leaders from Singapore and other parts of Asia will discuss topics surrounding the business of radiology in the region. They will also discuss how imaging practices should adapt to meet future demand for radiology as a diagnostic service by employing technological advancements to increase productivity through the use of teleradiology and artificial intelligence.

The Workshops in Interventional Radiology Education in Singapore (WIRES) will be another knowledge-sharing platform featured at Radiology Asia 2017. WIRES will feature a lunch symposium jointly held with the Asia Pacific Society of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology (APSCVIR) and four interventional-focused workshops that pertain to new methods of minimally invasive treatment of acute ischemic stroke, aortic disease, and tumor ablation.
