ACR plans breast imaging training in Saudi Arabia

The American College of Radiology (ACR) is teaming up with GE Healthcare and King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center for a breast imaging "boot camp" in Saudi Arabia.

The three-day conference will be held May 23-25 in Jeddah and is the first-ever ACR-led imaging boot camp training for breast radiologists in the Middle East. It will provide up to 40 practicing radiologists in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East with hands-on experience in mammography and breast ultrasound, according to the organization. Attendees will interpret more than 240 digital screening and diagnostic mammograms and other medical images; interventional workshops will also be available in breast ultrasound and stereotactic biopsy, the ACR said.

The conference will be the first in an ongoing series of boot camps and fellowships for radiologists across the region, according to the organization. Each boot camp will be run by the ACR Education Center. Participants will receive an ACR certificate of completion.
