Smart Choice MRI nets $3M investment

MRI services provider Smart Choice MRI has received an investment of $3 million from Wisconsin-based healthcare system ThedaCare.

ThedaCare is the first healthcare system to partner with Smart Choice MRI, and it becomes a minority owner in the company with a seat on the company's board of directors.

Smart Choice MRI provides MRI scans for $600 or less and currently has six MR imaging centers in Wisconsin.

The company is also scheduled to open at least eight centers in 2016: four in the Chicago area by April and four more in the Twin Cities of Minnesota by the second half of 2017.
