UPMC treats 1st patient with Accuray CyberKnife M6 + InCise

Radiation oncology firm Accuray said the first patient has been treated with its CyberKnife M6 system and InCise multileaf collimator (MLC) at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC).

The patient had a brain meningioma and was a typical candidate for the highly focused treatment with CyberKnife, UPMC said. It took just under 22 minutes to complete a traditional one-hour treatment.

UPMC is one of the InCise MLC evaluation sites working in collaboration with Accuray.
