Resonance prepares RSNA upgrades

MRI audiovisual developer Resonance Technology will show a number of enhancements to its CinemaVision MRI video entertainment system and functional MRI product line at this month's RSNA 2011 meeting in Chicago.

Patients can now plug their iPod or other portable music device into the CinemaVision docking station to listen to their own music during an MRI scan, according to the firm.

Resonance has also upgraded its video goggles to 1,280 x 1,024 resolution. The redesigned headset also features a digital microphone with active noise cancellation and full-frequency-range audio for patients to communicate with the technologist, the company said.

In other news, Resonance has enhanced its thin-film transistor (TFT) video panel/reflective entertainment viewing system, which now offers 2,560 x 1,600 resolution on a dual Digital Visual Interface (DVI), 30-inch digital display that can be positioned on either the front or back of the magnet bore.

Resonance will also debut a digital MRI-compatible camera system that can be mounted directly on the front or rear of the MRI bore, allowing the technologist to watch the patient during the scan.

Finally, Resonance said it has upgraded its funcLab functional MRI package to provide Analysis of Functional NeuroImages (AFNI) functional MRI analytics and brain activation tasks recommended by the American Society of Functional Neuroradiology (ASFNR).
