CoActiv debuts Exam-PACS modules at RSNA

PACS vendor CoActiv Medical of Ridgefield, CT, has launched new modules for its Exam-PACS at this week's 2010 RSNA meeting in Chicago.

Scan2PACS is a reception desk scanning module that enables an imaging facility to digitize a patient's hard-copy information at check-in for streamlined workflow. Patient information, including prescriptions, authorizations, insurance precertifications, or insurance cards, can be immediately scanned, digitized, and permanently attached to the patient file. The module also allows scanning of ultrasound worksheets, mammography worksheets, and more during and after the procedure. With Scan2PACS, facilities can now store documents as a new DICOM series and view them with any DICOM viewer, according to the company.

CoActive also introduced the Exam-Dictate module that integrates the Dragon voice recognition software into Exam-PACS and automatically attaches final reports to an exam once dictation is completed. It features customizable templates and the ability to create pretemplated normal reports for fast and accurate report creation, as well as the option to send reports to other systems.

At RSNA 2010, the company also debuted a new added archiving configuration that stores 100% of priors and new exams onsite for easy and instant access. This new configuration complements CoActiv's cloud-based, vendor-neutral Exam-Vault Quad-Redundant Archiving, and coupled with its Exam-Fetch technology, can instantly autosend relevant priors directly to a specific workstation, or multiple workstations, with the arrival of a new exam, the company said.
