Hitachi highlights MRI updates, installs at RSNA

Hitachi Medical Systems America of Twinsburg, OH, is highlighting updates to its MRI systems and new installations at this years RSNA meeting in Chicago.

The latest software for Hitachi's Oasis open MRI system features TIGRE-C, a new dynamic abdominal imaging feature with increased signal-to-noise ratio and temporal resolution, and access to advanced cardiac MR spectroscopy, and tensor imaging.

The company is also demonstrating new capabilities for Echelon 1.5T, including blood sensitive imaging (BSI) for depicting small veins and hemorrhage, and VASC - ASL, a new noncontrast spin-labeled MR angiography (MRA) technique. VASC - ASL delivers high-quality vessel images without a contrast agent, providing an alternative to contrast methods for patients with renal insufficiency, the company noted.

In addition, Hitachi announced new installations of its Oasis system at Saint Louis University in St. Louis; Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, NY; York Hospital in York, PA; the VA Medical Center/Lyster Army Health Clinic in Fort Rucker, AL; and Desert Medical Imaging in Indio, CA.
