Lumisys releases DI-2000 software

Lumisys has released version 4.0 of its DI-2000 acquisition and viewing software, which is included with the vendor’s Lumiscan film digitizers and ACR-2000 low-cost computed radiography system.

In version 4.0, the DICOM-compliant and Windows NT-based DI-2000 software includes advanced image processing algorithms that respond to anatomical characteristics, according to the Sunnyvale, CA-based firm. General image quality is improved by applying edge enhancement and more flexible contrast control. By improving contrast, Lumisys believes that its selective contrast enhancement capability further enables users to visualize particular anatomical details.

In other 4.0 improvements, image acquisition and review requires fewer steps than in previous versions. In addition, a "group send" capability routes a single image to multiple destinations, while a "speed send" feature allows users to send images from the image review window. An automatic window/level control has been added to further enhance user productivity, automatically adjusting images to optimum settings, according to Lumisys.
