Lumisys revenues grow slightly in Q2

Computed radiography and film digitizer vendor Lumisys reported second-quarter revenues of $5.1 million, up 1.9% from the $5 million posted in the same period in 1999. The Sunnyvale, CA-based firm had a net loss from continuing operations of $293,000 during the period (end-June 30), compared with net income from continuing operations of $171,000 in 1999. Excluding a $1.1 million loss by its AuntMinnie.com Web portal subsidiary, Lumisys would have experienced a profitable quarter, according to the vendor.

In CR developments, Lumisys reported a two-unit ACR-2000 order from Princess Margaret Hospital in Ontario, Canada, the largest radiation therapy center in the world and the second largest oncology center in North America. The institution will deploy the systems in radiation therapy applications, and Lumisys believes these orders will be a catalyst for additional sales of ACR-2000 to oncology markets.
