Poliakine founded more than 20 companies over his 35-year career, which led to over 70 patents in healthcare, social impact technology, the environment, and industry. He also led the effort to take Nanox public in 2020. He founded the company in 2012. Afterward, he moved to a non-executive role in 2021. His most recent role saw him leading Sixai, a company that integrates advanced technological solutions and AI into diverse industries.

Poliakine was involved in the early development of an end-to-end solution focused on applying proprietary medical imaging technology and solutions to make diagnostic medicine more accessible and affordable. These include the Nanox.ARC, a multisource 3D tomosynthesis imaging system.

Nanox CEO Erez Meltzer said in a press release that the company extends its deepest condolences to Poliakine's family and friends, as well as to the colleagues who previously worked with Poliakine.

The Nanox board of directors will meet soon to begin the process of appointing a new board chair, the company said.
