Fuji shows new offerings at HIMSS 2014

Fujifilm Medical Systems USA showed several new technologies at this week's Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) annual meeting in Orlando, FL.

Fuji's Synapse 3D software was shown fully integrated with its Synapse PACS and Synapse Cardiovascular applications. The goal is to eliminate the need to access diagnostic tools from a separate workstation or with a separate login, Fuji said. Patient lists are synchronized to stay current.

The company also showed the next generation of Synapse RIS, which offers a host of features designed for outpatient facilities, radiology groups, and hospitals. The system has received electronic health record (EHR) certification to become part of the meaningful use initiative. New this year is an improved Synapse Financials, a patient portal, and a new business analytics module, according to the firm.

Fuji also highlighted its Synapse Mobility and Synapse VNA (vendor-neutral archive) applications.
