June 19, 2012 -- The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has named Bryan Sivak as its new chief technology officer (CTO).

Sivak, currently the chief innovation officer of the state of Maryland, will replace Todd Park, who was named as federal U.S. CTO in March. HHS announced Sivak's appointment on Twitter on June 14.
