April 17, 2012 -- RIS and PACS vendor Brit Systems has received a Digital Imaging Network - PACS (DIN-PACS) III contract from the U.S. government.

The contract allows BRIT to sell PACS and related devices to all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces and Veterans Affairs facilities. It is valid through January 2014, with an extension available through January 2017, according to Brit.
Brit was a subcontractor to IBM on DIN-PACS I and DIN-PACS II projects dating back to 1998, and the firm has been a contractor on PACS implementations at multiple Veterans Affairs sites since 1997, Brit said.
