Dell and partners land Army, Navy archive order

Dell and partners Brit Systems and Acuo Technologies have been chosen by the U.S. Naval Medical Logistics Command and the U.S. Army Integrated Clinical Systems Program Management Office to implement Dell's Unified Clinical Archive at 49 hospitals and other medical facilities.

The contract has a $45 million ceiling and was assigned as part of the U.S. military's Digital Imaging Network - PACS III (DIN-PACS III) contract. It is intended to help the Army and Navy share PACS images between military bases and branches worldwide, according to Dell.

Dell said that it and its partners will provide the Army and Navy with an on-premise, vendor-neutral archiving system.
