VuCOMP gets 2 patents

Computer-aided detection (CAD) developer VuCOMP was issued two patents for technology related to its M-Vu CAD system for mammography; the firm has also filed seven more patents.

Two of the seven patents are for healthcare applications other than breast cancer detection. The content of the applications includes advances related to VuCOMP's CAD and automated breast density assessment for mammography, as well as other advancements for future applications such as lung segmentation and bone suppression techniques for chest x-rays, the firm said.
