FDA clears Varian's Nexus DR system

Radiation therapy firm Varian Medical Systems has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for Nexus DR, a high-resolution x-ray system with a digital detector.

Nexus DR consists of a single common imaging platform for general radiographic procedures (with the exception of fluoroscopy, angiography, and mammography). It can be used in new or existing radiographic rooms or in mobile x-ray units, the company said.
