Shimadzu, Konica Minolta ink portable DR deal

Shimadzu Medical Systems USA and Konica Minolta Medical Imaging have expanded their relationship with a new digital radiography (DR) agreement.

Under the agreement between the firms, Shimadzu will offer Konica's AeroDR wireless mobile imaging technology with its MobileArt family of portable x-ray systems. The new wireless mobile packages will be available in two configurations: MobileArt AeroDR-c with a column-mounted interface and MobileArt AeroDR-i with an integrated console interface, according to Shimadzu.

The MobileArt AeroDR systems include multiple flat-panel detector choices, including high-quality and standard resolution 14 x 17-inch panel sizes, a smaller 10 x 12-inch high-quality flat-panel detector for pediatric neonatal intensive care units (NICU), and dual flat-panel detector configurations, Konica Minolta said.
