Imix plans detector debuts at RSNA 2011

Digital radiography (DR) vendor Imix Americas plans to bring three new cassette-sized DR imaging detectors to the RSNA 2011 meeting in Chicago.

The detectors include two Slimline HD2 panels with amorphous selenium detector technology and the Imix X Wireless panel. The Slimline HD2 series is available in 35 x 43-cm and 43 x 43-cm tethered panels and as a 43 x 43-cm fixed detector.

Imix X Wireless is a wireless digital detector that weighs 6.3 lb and includes a rigid case and double-glass structure to prevent damage by shock or load, according to the vendor. Its ISO 4090-compliant cassette size can fit any existing wall stand or bucky tray, Imix said.

Imix has integrated the detectors into its DR systems, which have also received upgrades to optimize ergonomics, simplicity, functionality, and ease of use, according to the company. New features include a touchscreen, remote control, and detector encasement with a detector enclosure that permits the 14 x 17-inch detector to rotate from landscape to portrait mode without being removed, Imix said.

The company said it has also expanded the number of its system configurations. The Imix product line now incorporates floor and wall-mounted stands, tables, and positioning devices that can be sold as complete DR systems or as DR-ready systems that can be upgraded with Imix digital detectors, according to the firm.
