Image Diagnostics launches mobile 4K monitor

Specialty equipment manufacturer Image Diagnostics has launched ilex55, a cart-mounted large-field 4K monitor for mobile use in interventional radiology environments.

Ilex55 consists of a large multimodality monitor mounted on a cart that can be wheeled into surgical and interventional suites. The product is designed to provide high-resolution visualization of images needed to guide surgeries and interventions, with more flexibility and lower cost than fixed equipment.

The system is intended for use in gastrointestinal, orthopedic, spine, and vascular hybrid surgery applications, as well as general use. It is targeted at the rapidly growing hybrid operating room (OR) segment, displaying images from C-arms, cameras, ultrasound scanners, PACS, and hemodynamic sources.

Ilex55 is based on a 55-inch ultrahigh-definition (UHD) monitor on a mobile cart with 20 inches of vertical travel. It supports the display of one 4K image or four 26-inch images at a time. Other features include remote control video formatting, calibrated surgical color, an integrated speaker and USB charging station, and support for analog and digital signals from multiple sources.

The company is also touting features of its UHD monitor technology, such as an expanded color palette, dose reduction from customers needing to use the magnification function of the C-arm less often as image quality is improved, and increased sharpness and clarity.

Image Diagnostics launched ilex55 at last week's RSNA 2017 meeting in Chicago.
