PerkinElmer launches new x-ray detectors

Life sciences firm PerkinElmer has introduced three new flat-panel x-ray detectors.

The work-in-progress XRD 4343CT is based on PerkinElmer's amorphous silicon technology and features a 43 x 43-cm field-of-view, 150-µm pixel size, and fast frame rate, PerkinElmer said. It's suitable for 3D conebeam CT, low-dose nondestructive testing, metrology, and scientific research.

The XRD 3025, which is also still in development, yields a 100-µm pixel size and supports a broad range of x-ray energies, the firm said. PerkinElmer expects to have evaluation units available in the third quarter for the detector, which is directed toward 3D conebeam CT, industrial nondestructive testing, metrology, and life science and physical science research.

Employing large-area complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) image sensor technology, Dexela 2315NDT has a 75-µm pixel size and its large field-of-view allows for geometric magnification, according to the vendor. The firm is targeting industrial conebeam CT and a range of nondestructive testing applications for this new detector.
