EOS lands new Korean technology designation

Orthopedic digital imaging developer EOS Imaging said that the Korean Center for New Health Technology has awarded the EOS imaging platform with its Innovative Technology status.

The designation recognizes EOS as a unique modality worthy of a new reimbursement code with higher coverage than conventional x-rays, according to the vendor. Exam reimbursement levels will be determined during the coming years, but in the meantime, Korean hospitals may determine for themselves how much they will charge for each EOS exam, the company said.

The EOS system received Korea Food and Drug Administration clearance in 2014.
