Orthopedic digital imaging developer EOS Imaging has installed one of its digital x-ray systems at a Boston pediatric orthopedic hospital.

Thirteen of the 20 highest-ranked U.S. pediatric orthopedic centers have adopted the technology, the company said.

EOS' system provides full-body stereoradiographic images of patients in functional positions, in both 2D and 3D. It delivers a radiation dose that is 50% to 85% less than that of digital radiology and 95% less than the dose from basic CT scans, according to the firm.
