Carestream unveils new laser imager

Carestream Health has introduced DryView 6950, a new laser imager that supports all imaging modalities.

With support for full-field digital mammography and computed radiography (CR) mammography studies, DryView 6950 can provide a maximum field density of 4.0, according to the vendor. It also prints 160 to 250 films per hour at 650 pixels-per-inch resolution for every film size; three film supplies come standard with each imager.

Carestream noted that each film cartridge holds 125 sheets of film, and film size changes can be made by exchanging the film cartridge. As an option, customers can also implement a five-bin, top-mounted sorter.

A multilingual touchscreen user interface is designed to assist with instruction, operation, and user training, according to the firm. Carestream said it has also incorporated key test patterns to aid with mammography quality assurance and regulatory requirements.

The vendor will showcase DryView 6950 at this month's RSNA 2014 meeting in Chicago.
