TEAC to launch medical video recorder

Japanese electronics company TEAC plans to launch a new high-definition recorder for still and dynamic images from medical devices such as C-arms, angiography systems, and endoscopy units.

The company's UR-4MD medical imaging recorder is designed to be a doctor-friendly, easy-to-use system that can be set up quickly. The system records up to 100 hours of HD-quality video, and it features redundant data backup for fail-safe recording and disaster recovery capability.

UR-4MD can be attached to a network and can transfer videos and images to servers within a hospital network. The system can also safely shut itself down in the event of a power interruption during recording.

TEAC plans to release the recorder in October.
