ON Semiconductor upgrades CCD image sensor

Imaging technology developer ON Semiconductor has launched an upgrade to a charge-coupled device (CCD) image sensor it recently acquired from Truesense Imaging.

The updated KAI-08051 image sensor offers improved light sensitivity, reduced read noise, and improved color accuracy compared to the previous generation of the device, according to ON Semiconductor. This allows for more opportunities for 8-megapixel image capture in areas such as medical imaging, intelligent traffic, surveillance, and industrial inspection.
