Royal Philips, the parent company of Philips Healthcare, has released new ob/gyn ultrasound technology at the World Congress on Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG) in Vienna.

Philips is unveiling its new InnoSight touchscreen-based diagnostic compact ultrasound scanner at the meeting. The company is highlighting the system's ergonomic design and clinical versatility intended to meet the mobility needs of practitioners across a wide range of applications.

Other technologies being introduced at ISUOG 2017 include aBiometry AssistA.I., which preplaces measurement cursors on selected structures and reduces conventional measurement steps to speed up fetal measurement. Another technology, TrueVue with TouchVue interface, uses the touch panel on the company's Epiq scanners to allow users to interact and direct both the volume rotation and internal light source, creating photorealistic 3D fetal images.

Finally, the eL18-4 transducer features a multirow array configuration for full electronic focusing of the elevation plan, Philips said.

aBiometry AssistA.I, TouchVue, and the eL18-4 transducer are pending 510(k) clearance and not yet available in the U.S.
