Super Bowl ultrasound ad draws ire of pro-choice group

NARAL Pro-Choice America was not amused by a Doritos Super Bowl commercial that depicted an expectant father teasing a fetus with a Doritos chip during a prenatal ultrasound exam.

The ad portrays an expectant couple's visit to an ultrasound suite. As the fetus moves around on the ultrasound screen, the nonchalant father-to-be munches Doritos, drawing the ire of his wife. The fetus is so attracted to Doritos that the ad comes to a surprising conclusion.

In a tweet after the commercial aired during the Super Bowl on Sunday, NARAL said the ad used the "anti-choice" tactic of "humanizing" fetuses and "sexist tropes of dads as clueless" and "moms as uptight." NARAL's position subsequently drew the ire of conservative groups opposed to abortion.
