VuCOMP lands new CAD patents

Computer-aided detection (CAD) software developer VuCOMP has received two more patents for its breast cancer CAD technology.

The new patents -- U.S. Patent VUC-007 for Microcalcification Detection Classification in Radiographic Images and U.S. Patent VUC-010 for Spiculated Malignant Mass Detection and Classification in Radiographic Images -- cover a key cancer detection component of VuCOMP's M-Vu CAD software, according to the vendor.

VuCOMP said an additional seven patents related to its breast cancer detection technology are pending.
