IDSI signs Shimadzu as Australia/NZ distributor

Laser breast imaging firm Imaging Diagnostic Systems (IDSI) has signed a distribution agreement with Shimadzu Medical Systems to market and sell its CT laser mammography (CTLM) system in Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands.

Australia-based Shimadzu Medical Systems (Oceania) will be responsible for all sales, installation, training, and service for the region.

The CTLM system is a breast imaging device that utilizes continuous-wave laser technology and computer algorithms to create 3D images of the breast. It is designed to show information about blood distribution in the breast and may visualize the process of angiogenesis, which usually accompanies tumor growth. The system is designed to be used in conjunction with mammography.
