Digirad supplies detector technology to Dilon

Nuclear medicine firm Digirad announced this week that it has supplied Dilon Diagnostics with the advanced photodetector technology used in Dilon's newest gamma camera for breast imaging, Dilon 6800 Acella.

The firms said they inked a development agreement in mid-2010 that resulted in the commercial launch of the new camera last month. Dilon 6800 Acella features an 8 x 10-inch detector that's larger than the 6 x 8-inch detector on Dilon's existing version of Dilon 6800.

Dilon customers now have the option of buying the Dilon 6800 gamma camera with either detector size. The new camera is being debuted at this week's Society of Nuclear Medicine (SNM) meeting in San Antonio.
