ACR touts breast screening campaign

The American College of Radiology (ACR) is promoting a public service campaign encouraging women 40 years and older to get a regular mammogram.

Mammography Saves Lives (MammographySavesLives.org) includes TV and radio public service announcements and helps women find an accredited imaging center near them.

The website offers access to scientific information on breast density and how it affects mammograms and breast cancer diagnosis, ACR said. It also provides information from leading breast cancer experts, who separate fact from myth and explain why they recommend regular mammograms for women 40 and older.
