Planned Parenthood expands breast program

Planned Parenthood announced that it's expanding its breast health education, outreach, and services across the U.S.

The move is made possible by public donations that arrived after Susan G. Komen for the Cure stopped providing grants to Planned Parenthood due to pressure from political groups, a decision Komen quickly reversed earlier this year.

The expanded program is designed to provide women with increased access to cancer screenings, diagnostic services, and educational resources to identify potential breast health issues early and make appropriate care decisions.

When Komen announced that it would stop funding Planned Parenthood's work to provide breast cancer screening to low-income women nationwide, more than 77,000 people donated more than $3 million in less than four days, according to the organization.
