Samsung releases portable ultrasound upgrades

Samsung Medison has launched an upgraded version of its HM70A portable ultrasound scanner.

HM70A with Plus now includes Samsung's S-Vue transducers, which offer higher sensitivity and easier visualization for difficult cases, as well as a new "hockey stick" transducer for musculoskeletal imaging, the company said. The device can also be used with a transesophageal echocardiogram transducer and features cardiovascular imaging tools such as strain and stress echo.

HM70A with Plus also includes MultiVision, an imaging enhancement tool that allows for higher spatial and contrast resolution.

Samsung Medison plans to release HM70A with Plus in Korea, Europe, and the U.S. by the end of this year, and in Russia, China, and Brazil in 2016.
