Sonus develops US scanner for MRI-targeted biopsy

Sonus Imaging has developed an ultrasound scanner designed for use with MRI-targeted prostate ultrasound biopsy procedures.

The Enovare uro ultrasound system uses the company's iVue and Xact grid technology for better needle placement. The system does not use electromagnetic sensors to estimate the correct site of the abnormal area to undergo biopsy, which reduces the chances of registration errors, according to the company.

Enovare uro does not require a separate workstation, and it incorporates a 23-inch LED high-definition 1080p display for MRI-targeted ultrasound biopsy, as well as low-dose-rate, high-dose-rate, and focal therapy, the firm added.
