Analogic launches new Flex Focus 400 exp scanner

Medical imaging firm Analogic has launched a new version of its Flex Focus 400 ultrasound scanner platform at the Anesthesiology 2014 meeting in New Orleans.

Flex Focus 400 exp is targeted at point-of-care applications including anesthesia, pain management, musculoskeletal, and emergency medicine, according to the company. The scanner includes Analogic's Quantum Plus technology for better efficiency, speed, and accessibility.

Analogic believes the scanner can improve both routine and complex ultrasound needle-guided procedures, such as nerve blocks, vascular access, fine needle aspirations, and core biopsies, and it provides up to four hours of plug-free operation.

At the meeting, Analogic is also showing its Sonic Window handheld ultrasound scanner, which received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance earlier in 2014.
