Hitachi Aloka debuts US unit for primary care

Hitachi Aloka Medical has introduced F37, a new diagnostic ultrasound system targeted at primary care environments.

Featuring a compact size of 43 x 58 cm, F37 can fit into tight office spaces, according to the vendor, and weighs 143.3 lb (65 kg). Hitachi Aloka is also emphasizing the design of the scanner's customizable operation panel, which aims to make it easier for first-time users to operate the system.

Hitachi Aloka has included its broadband harmonics (BbH) technology in the system, which provides sensitivity and resolution enhancements. Other functions include Hitachi Aloka's adaptive image processing and spatial compound imaging technology. An image optimizer tool simplifies image adjustments, according to the vendor.

The company said it hopes F37 will expand its penetration in developing countries and will enable new users to perform diagnostic ultrasound. Deliveries will begin this month.
