Samsung unveils new ultrasound scanner

Samsung Medison has launched a new ultrasound scanner, the HS70A.

The system has Samsung's S-Vision imaging engine, which supports 2D and color images by minimizing signal noise. It also includes the company's S-Harmonic protocol to produce better uniformity, S-Vue transducer to provide a larger bandwidth and higher sensitivity, and a 23-inch HD LED screen, Samsung said.

HS70A also includes features such as the EX-Exam+ tool, which allows users to build or use predefined protocols, and S-Detect, which suggests the characteristics of a lesion.

Samsung said it first plans to launch the scanner in Korea, Europe, and the Middle East, followed by the U.S., China, and Brazil.
