IBA inks deal with Procure

Radiopharmaceutical firm Ion Beam Applications (IBA) of Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, has signed a contract with Seattle Procure Management for the installation of a proton therapy system.

IBA estimates the value of the contract to be between 45 million euros ($56 million U.S.) and 55 million euros ($68 million U.S.).

The proton therapy center will be owned and operated in partnership with the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and will be built on the campus of Northwest Hospital and Medical Center in Seattle.

The contract includes a combination of gantry, inclined-beam, and fixed-beam rooms, with options for patient positioning and the IBA Universal Nozzle technology, including the latest pencil-beam scanning technology, as well as a long-term service and maintenance agreement.

Seattle Procure Management is an affiliate of ProCure Treatment Centers, based in Bloomington, IN.
