M*Modal launches real-time speech package

Speech recognition firm M*Modal has debuted a real-time speech understanding technology, the Pittsburgh-based company said.

AnyModal CDS Live extends the firm's AnyModal CDS to provide speech understanding functionality in real-time. The technology captures and comprehends clinical information from dictation and translates it into retrievable and sharable electronic files.

AnyModal CDS Live works with existing hardware, on any computer, M*Modal said, and physicians can choose various options, from "edit in place" and sign-off to batch processing for multiple report review and sign-off.
