BridgeHead launches new software at HIMSS 2014

BridgeHead Software unveiled two new software applications at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) 2014 meeting.

BridgeHead RAPid (Rapid Application Protection) ensures protection and recovery of hospital applications, according to the company. It integrates backup and archiving with a central repository for metadata and business and clinical data, so hospitals can quickly bring back large amounts of data if needed.

Using BridgeHead BLAST (Backup Leveraging Advanced Storage Technology), BridgeHead RAPid allows hospitals to restore an application's complete underlying database and then enough of its file data to quickly get the application back up and running.

Also at the meeting, BridgeHead unveiled HealthStore for FlexPod, a data management system designed to provide hospitals with a way to manage all clinical and administrative data across the hospital enterprise.

HealthStore allows organizations to store and protect their healthcare data, the firm said. HealthStore also integrates BridgeHead's Healthcare Data Management (HDM) system with FlexPod Select -- a system that combines NetApp E-Series storage, Cisco Unified Computing System servers, and Cisco Nexus fabric switches. The system manages all healthcare data across the entire hospital, including DICOM image files, studies from other clinical departments, and administrative data from the operational functions of the hospital.

It also allows hospitals to place data into a central repository, and it enables multiple copies of data to be made as it is written.
