vRad executive tapped for ACR roles

Teleradiology services firm Virtual Radiologic (vRad) said that its chief medical officer, Dr. Benjamin Strong, has been appointed as a member of the American College of Radiology (ACR) Committee on Emergency Radiology.

In his new role, Strong will work with the 15 other committee members to address emergency radiology issues, vRad said. The committee also helps inform ACR policy on emergency radiology coverage, quality and safety issues (including teleradiology), and practice parameters, according to the company.

The firm said that the ACR has also named Strong as the first-sanctioned clinical lecturer to discuss trauma and emergency radiology for the ACR's American Institute for Radiologic Pathology, which offers training for radiology residents, fellows, and practicing radiologists worldwide.
