McKesson lands $30M DIN-PACS III contract

Healthcare information systems firm McKesson has received a Digital Imaging Network - PACS (DIN-PACS) III contract from the U.S. government valued at up to $30 million.

McKesson will be able to sell PACS and related subsystems to all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces and civilian defense department agency facilities. The contract runs for two years with an additional two years of options, according to the company.

Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, SC; Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, NM; and McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, KS, are in the process of receiving their McKesson PACS and expect to go live by February 2012, according to the vendor.

Edwards Air Force Base in Edwards, CA, and Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas have already replaced their previous PACS with a McKesson PACS.
