Kjaya to debut cloud-based image sharing

Medical graphics computing technology firm Kjaya Medical will introduce a new cloud-based image sharing app, called iShareScan.com, at the RSNA 2011 meeting in Chicago.

iShareScan.com is designed to upload images to the Kjaya cloud for immediate access, viewing, and manipulation in 2D, 3D, 4D, or PET/CT fusion by authorized physicians and patients.

Using iShareScan.com, any imaging site can gain access to images for collaboration, patient transfers, and communication with referring physicians. Patients also can use the system to share their images with healthcare providers.

The service is being offered for free and takes advantage of the same supercomputing cloud technology as Kjaya's full per-study-fee-based VoXcell imaging suite. iShareScan.com can also be used on iPads and other mobile devices, although this functionality is pending U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance, Kjaya said.
