COCIR, JIRA, and MITA collaborate

Trade groups representing medical imaging vendors in Europe, North America, and Japan met in Geneva last week to collaborate on their ongoing efforts to encourage innovation, expand market access, and promote global competitiveness in the medical imaging, radiation therapy, and healthcare IT industries.

The European Coordination Committee of the Radiological, Electromedical, and Healthcare IT Industry (COCIR); the Japan Industries Association of Radiological Systems (JIRA); and the Medical Imaging and Technology Alliance (MITA) held the meeting under the auspices of the International Congress of Diagnostic Imaging and Therapy Systems Trade Associations (DITTA).

Representatives from the three organizations attended a two-day international regulatory meeting and a presentation at the World Health Organization's (WHO) medical technology meeting. The associations discussed ways to improve the global regulatory environment for medical technology industries so their member companies can remain at the forefront of technological innovation and maintain continued success in the global marketplace.
