LifeImage tapped by RSNA

Medical image sharing firm LifeImage said it has been selected by the RSNA to serve as a digital clearinghouse for its national medical image sharing project.

The two-year project is funded by a federal contract from the U.S. National Institutes of Health/National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIH/NIBIB) and aims to give patients control of their imaging reports and images, according to the Newton, MA-based firm.

Initial connectivity will be demonstrated at next week's RSNA conference in Chicago, with live patient data exchange planned for January 2011, LifeImage said.
