Siemens execs chosen for IT leadership

Siemens Medical Solutions of Malvern, PA, said that members of its executive leadership team have been chosen for industry positions and appointments in healthcare industry organizations such as the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT). The appointments include:

  • Gail E. Latimer, vice president, chief nursing officer, reappointed as a member of the CCHIT Inpatient Electronic Health Record (EHR) Work Group
  • Donald Bechtel, chief privacy officer for the company's Healthcare Data Exchange (HDX) service, selected to participate in the CCHIT Privacy and Compliance Expert Panel
  • David Tao, D.Sc., senior key expert of Soarian Enterprise Systems, appointed as co-chair of the CCHIT EHR Foundation Work Group
  • Eric Ringle, product manager, appointed as a member of the CCHIT Emergency Department EHR Work Group
  • Terry Jacobs, director of electronic health records and emerging initiatives, selected as a steering committee member to the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Enterprise Information Systems Steering Committee
  • Dr. Floyd Eisenberg, senior physician consultant of clinical informatics, elected as co-chairperson of Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise’s (IHE) Quality Domain Technical Committee
  • Susan Matney, clinical informatics, elected to serve a two-year term on the International Health Terminology Standards Development Organisation (IHTSDO) Quality Assurance Committee
  • Glen Marshall, standards and regulations manager, elected as co-chairperson for the HITSP Security and Privacy Technical Committee
  • Joe D'Antonio, senior manager for Soarian HIM product development, elected vice chairperson of the American Health Information Management Association’s (AHIMA) Foundation of Research and Education (FORE) board
  • Denise Dunyak, leader of global marketing efforts for Soarian HIM and EDM solutions, appointed as chairperson of the AHIMA Program Committee for the 2007 meeting, which will be held in Philadelphia
