Compressus names Broda as imaging GM

Software developer Compressus of Washington, DC, has named medical imaging veteran Janine Broda as vice president and general manager of its medical imaging solutions business.

Broda will develop and maintain business relationships for the company's medical imaging products, including its RadSight software for electronic image distribution.

Broda has 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry, and previously was vice president of professional services and director of sales at women's healthcare firm Fischer Imaging of Denver. She also spent 18 years at film and PACS vendor Agfa HealthCare of Greenville, NC, eventually becoming director of strategic business development.

In other Compressus news, the company has added a new RIS capability to RadSight, which is based on the firm's lossless data-compression technology. RadSight includes archiving, Web-based image access, and "smart routing" of images. The new RIS capability is Web-based and enables users to attach patient information to the correct images, then route the studies to the correct healthcare personnel.

RadSight has been in operation for the past 12 months at Nevada Rural Hospital Partners (NRHP) system, under a program called the Diagnostic Imaging Solution for Rural Nevada (DISRN). Based on their experience with the project, the NRHP is planning an expansion to seven more hospitals in 2006.
