Misys names hospital systems executive

Healthcare information technology developer Misys Healthcare Systems of Raleigh, NC, has named industry veteran Richard Atkin to lead its hospital systems group.

Atkin was named president of the division, which markets clinical software, electronic patient records, and departmental information systems to hospitals and laboratories. Atkin has served as president and CEO of Datex-Ohmeda and also Spacelabs Medical when the companies were part of Instrumentarium prior to its acquisition by GE Healthcare in 2004.
