DICOM Grid adds 3 clients

Cloud-based software developer DICOM Grid has provided its medical imaging management suite to three nonprofit organizations.

Rad-Aid, Partners in Health, and TheSecondOpinion are using DICOM Grid's software for image exchange purposes, according to the vendor.

Rad-Aid, which offers education and training for radiology departments in developing countries, is using DICOM Grid's cloud PACS in partnership with Bir Hospital in Kathmandu, Nepal. The software supports 100 to 150 imaging studies each day at Bir Hospital, DICOM Grid said.

Partners in Health is using DICOM Grid's software to send studies from the University Hospital in Mirebalais in Haiti to volunteer radiologists based in the U.S., DICOM Grid said.

In addition, TheSecondOpinion is using DICOM Grid to upload prior studies of cancer patients seeking advice, according to the company. Volunteer radiologists can then review the exams remotely using the vendor's viewing software.

DICOM Grid said it is donating a portion of the implementation services and subscription fees back to all three organizations.
