RIS/PACS vendor CoActiv Medical has received a U.S. patent for its Web-based image sharing technology.
The patent covers technology included in CoActiv's Exam-Sender tool, which automatically transmits medical images, voice clips, reports, and other patient information over the Internet to authorized users on remote PCs, according to the vendor.
Exam-Sender is a specialized component of CoActiv's Exam-PACS enterprise software and is also available for integration into any existing PACS, the company said.
